Welcome to the Website of the Alfred & Lyman Little League.
We are a part of Maine's District 4 Little League, serving the towns of Alfred and Lyman. In 2009 we have 17 teams (5 Tball, 4 minor B baseball, 2 minor B softball, 4 minor A baseball, 2 minor A softball, 2 major league baseball) .
Important Updates/Notes:
Baseball Clinics FREE! (ages 7-12) every Sunday, from 2:15 to 4:15 at the Lyman Elementary School.
Softball Clinics FREE! every Sunday, from 12:00 to 2:00 at the Lyman Elementary School.
Pitching Clinics $10.00 per session, every Sunday, from 1:00 to 2:00 at the Lyman ElementarySchool. Jen Bolduc, who is the varsity softball coach at Massabesic High School, will again be conducting softball pitching clinics. For those of you who are interested in pitching, this is a great opportunity to learn the proper mechanics and techniques. Jen has done an outstanding job working with a few girls who currently play.

Starting Sunday, January 24th the Alfred Lyman Little League will be accepting sign-ups for the 2010 season at the Softball Clinics and the first half hour of the Baseball Clinics.
Umpires Wanted!
Alfred / Lyman Little League is looking for honest, reliable, and trustworthy individuals to umpire games for the 2010 season.
This coming year the league will be paying umpires for all Majors and Minors "A" baseball and softball games. Individuals interested in umpiring
these games will need to attend training (provided by the league) and successfully pass a background check. Interested individuals should contact

Majors Leagues:
Home Plate Umpire - $25 a game
Base Umpire (1 base umpire per game) - $15 a game
Minors "A" Leagues:
Home Plate Umpire - $25 a game
Base Umpire - N/A
Board meetings are typically held on the 3rd Sunday of every month, 6 pm at the Goodwin Mills Fire Department Conference Room. These meetings are open to the public. If you are interested in attending it is recommended to call the number at the bottom of this page as meetings are often moved to accomodate the busy parents who make up our board.
Opening Day - Ceremonies willbe held at the Alfred Park. To alleviate parking concerns the league will divide opening ceremonies into two parts:
Age Eligibility Notes
Tball - Open to players league age 5 -8. To meet the minimum age requirement the child must turn 5 before May 1, 2010.
Minor League Baseball - Open to players league age 7-10. To meet the minimum age requirements the child must turn 7 before May 1, 2010.
Minor League Softball - Open to players league age 7-11. To meet the minimum age requirements the child must turn 7 before December 31, 2009.
Major League Baseball - Open to players league age 11-12. To meet the minimum age requirements the child must turn 9 before May 1, 2010.
Major League Softball - Open to players league age 9-12. To meet the minimum age requirements the child must turn 9 before December 31, 2009.
Junior League Baseball / Softball - available upon demand for children league age 13-14.
